Your steps

Why does PureSteps show exactly the same number as Apple Health?

Because Apple Health is the single source of truth. PureSteps reads your steps from Health and combines iPhone and Apple Watch exactly like the Health app does, so the two always agree.

If both devices record steps at the same time, Apple Health decides which one counts, based on the priority it gives to each source. You can check that order in Health Browse Activity Steps Data Sources & Access.

I don’t see any steps. What should I do?

PureSteps needs permission to read your Health data. Open Settings Health Data Access & Devices PureSteps and turn on all categories. Then go back to PureSteps.

If your steps still don’t show up, email us and we’ll help you find out why.

What is wheelchair mode?

Wheelchair mode makes PureSteps count pushes instead of steps. Turn it on in PureSteps’s settings. Just like steps, pushes come from Apple Health.

How do I add steps manually, and how do I delete them?

You can add steps by hand in PureSteps. They are written to Apple Health, so PureSteps and Health keep showing the same number.

To delete manually added steps, remove them in the Health app: open Health Browse Activity Steps Show All Data, swipe the entry to the left and tap Delete.

Widgets, Control Center and Siri

How do I add a widget?
  • Home Screen: touch and hold an empty spot, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose PureSteps.
  • Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose Lock Screen, tap the area under the time and choose PureSteps.

The small Home Screen widget is free, and it also works in StandBy while your iPhone charges. The medium and large widgets, the Lock Screen widgets and the Apple Watch complications are part of PureSteps Pro.

How do I add Control Center buttons?

Open Control Center, tap the + button at the top left, tap Add a Control and choose a PureSteps button.

How do I use Siri with PureSteps?

Ask Siri, for example: “How many steps have I taken in PureSteps?” PureSteps also works with the Shortcuts app, so you can use it in your own shortcuts.

Purchases and subscriptions

How do I restore my purchases?

Open PureSteps, go to the Settings tab and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account (Apple ID) you used to buy PureSteps Pro.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and choose PureSteps. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal.

To stop the 7-day free trial from converting to a paid subscription, cancel in the same way before the trial ends.

Does PureSteps Pro work with Family Sharing?

Yes, PureSteps Pro supports Family Sharing, so you can share it with your Family Sharing group. If Pro doesn’t show up on a family member’s device, open the Settings tab in PureSteps and tap Restore purchases.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles refunds, including the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers in the EU have for digital purchases: reportaproblem.apple.com.
